Day 71: Miramichi to Saint-Louis de Kent

After my previous blog post, I had breakfast with Rodrigo then packed up my things. We took one last selfie together before I started my ride to Saint-Louis de Kent.

I didn’t take a break at all since there wasn’t a good place to have a rest. I rode for about 33 miles straight to Saint-Louis de Kent.

I stopped by the grocery store to buy an egg sandwich and some sliced ham for lunch since the only restaurant that’s supposed to be open was permanently closed.

While I was having my sandwich by the grocery store, a Chinese woman started chatting with me and kept asking me questions. I should have given her my contact card that has my website if she wanted to know more about my trip. But I was too frustrated with the stardom and forgot to give it to her.

I waited after 1:15 PM at the bench by the street corner for Denis, my Warmshowers host, to arrive. When he came home, I went to his house.

I will be sleeping in Denis’s backyard tonight. After pitching my tent, I took a shower, then helped Denis build a toy house for his grand-daughter. I always wanted to build a house of my own, I guess this is practice.

Denis and his partner, Annette, made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner. It was delicious. I also had some cake afterward.

I will go to sleep after I finish doing a load of laundry. For the next two days, I will be camping again before I go to Prince Edward Island.

The scenery didn't change much during today's ride, just the trees and the road.

Yellow on yellow

Finally, I built a house!
