Tokyo, Part 2: Days 1 to 3

I returned to Tokyo a few days ago and will be taking a flight from here to Seoul on September 20.

When I arrived again in Tokyo, I met up with a woman named Zulfiya for a lunch date. We had been chatting on and off for about a month. I was early so I decided to get a cup of caramel macchiato at the Starbucks inside the Tokyo Plaza. It was my first time at a Starbucks in Japan and I wanted to compare the price with US. The cost of a tall caramel macchiato is 530 JPY, or about $3.65.

At 1 PM, I met Zulfiya at Tokyo Tarako Spaghetti restaurant in Omotesando near the Harajuku train station. Lunch was great. I had the mentaiko spaghetti, which is a type of roe. I also had a great conversation with Zulfiya. However, our future family plans are different so I don't think anything will come out of this date.

After the date, I had to take two trains to the hostel in Itabashi, an area that's a bit on the outskirt of Tokyo.

The following day, I didn't do anything. I only went out of the hostel to grab food. This was a rare rest day for me and it was good to take some time away from traveling and just think about things.

Yesterday, I decided to visit Ueno Park, a place that holds dear to me since the Ueno train station is where I first arrived in Tokyo. Also Arturo, Chris, and I had hung out at Ueno Park. They were friends I had met at the hostel in Taito City when I first came to Tokyo.

After Ueno Park, I walked to Akihabara Electric Town. It's a district in Tokyo where they sell a lot of electronics. I was going to buy a pair of wireless earbuds, but they were going to charge me a 10% tax since I didn't have my physical passport to show them. I decided not to get it.

Today, I don't know what I'm doing. I still have two more days left in Tokyo before I head off to Seoul. I should do some research and book a hostel.

The entrance to Tokyo Plaza is pretty cool!

Cool reflections as I went up the escalator.

This is the coolest building in Tokyo, in my opinion.

Finally went to a Starbucks in Japan

The mentaiko spaghetti was great!
