Day 126: Rest Day in Grabina

Yesterday was a rest day for me at Chris’ place in Grabina. It rained in the morning so I passed the time by playing a card gamed called Macau with Chris and his dad.

I was also served delicious meals in the morning and around lunch time. Chris said that Polish people have a saying that translates to something like “Polish people like to serve their guests a lot of food even if they need to take out loans to do so.” I hope his parents didn’t take out any loans for me. The homemade meals were delicious!

In the afternoon, Chris drove us to the nearby city of Płock. We walked around the town for a bit then went into a museum called Muzeum Mazowieckie w Płocku.

The museum is divided into two buildings. One building has a variety of things including furnitures from the old times, paintings, sculptures, and jewelry. The other building is more like a history museum.

After the museum, we did some shopping at a drug store and I wanted to buy something for Chris’ parents since they treated me so well and cooked so much. Chris suggested I buy an electric kettle for them since the one they have just broke before I arrived. We found one with a brand that I’ve heard of so I purchased it. I don’t trust unknown brands thinking that they are poor quality. Chris also bought me some alcohol wipes that I will need in case I fall again.

When we came back home dinner was already on the table. I had some Polish sausages, potato wedges, and fried zucchini. Again, the food was delicious.

Chris, his dad, and I played a few more rounds of Macau before I retired to bed.

This morning, I woke up at 8. I will try to leave around 10 AM. I have over 50 miles to ride to Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. I’ll be staying at a hotel there to avoid the rain tonight.

For some reason, I found this very funny. Maybe something about the human race?

This is a watch.
